Hello and welcome to this week's edition of the IFI Newsletter!

This week's offerings feature a trove of glistening cinematic treasures, starting off with the much anticipated 28 Years Later, and a 20th anniversary re-release of Michael Haneke's Hidden (Caché) on general release.

Meanwhile on Monday 23rd, this month's Irish Focus selection is a powerful portrait of the demolition of the Church of the Annunciation in Finglas in Making Dust. Stick around after the screening for an in-conversation event moderated by Emmett Scanlon, director of the Irish Architecture Foundation.

Our Wild Strawberries over 55s film club returns with two screenings of The Friend on Wednesday 25th and Friday 27th.

Our Michael Haneke season continues with Time of the Wolf on Saturday 21st and The White Ribbon on Sunday 22nd. While our Dietrich x Garbo season rolls on with Camille on Saturday 21st, Angel on Sunday 22nd, Destry Rides Again Thursday 26th. IRISH FOCUS: MAKING DUST

Featuring oral interviews with Finglas locals recorded at the site and in a nearby hairdresser’s, Making Dust reflects on the life cycles of buildings and materials to offer a profound reckoning with an epoch of Irish history that is only now just beginning to come into focus.

Followed by a conversation, moderated by Emmett Scanlon (Director, Irish Architecture Foundation), with Fiona Hallinan, Ellen Rowley, and poet Paula Meehan who came of age in Finglas.

WILD STRAWBERRIES: THE FRIEND

Creatively struggling writer Iris takes on the Great Dane of her late friend, mentor, and lover. Together they deal with the past and the impact of their late companion on their lives.

Wild Strawberries is our monthly film club for the over 55s. Tickets are just €5.50 for IFI Members and €6.00 for non-members, and include a free tea or coffee.
